Forested Wonderland

Brick Wall Photo by Larry Gleason

The City of Aiken and many of its residential areas surround one of the nation’s largest urban forests. Hitchcock Woods contains more than 2,100 acres and over 70 miles of bridle trails. This unique place provides an invaluable natural cathedral for equestrians and pedestrians. On certain days from November until mid-March, the Aiken Hounds, the oldest drag pack in the United States, enjoy English-style drag hunts in these woods.
